Dove Cameron reveals ‘non-traditional’ wedding plans with Damiano David

The couple got engaged at the end of 2025 but kept the news a secret for months.

Dove Cameron is already working on the vision board for her wedding to her fiancé, Damiano David.

The singer and actress spoke about her engagement and her plans for the big day in a new interview with Fashion published on Monday, January 26, revealing that staying true to herself is more important than sticking to wedding rules.

“For the actual proposal, I wasn’t wearing makeup,” Cameron revealed. “I was completely naked, because I had no idea what the day was going to be. It was very sweet in that sense because normally I am very made up and dressed up. I have fun experimenting with those things. But in this case, I was just in my big T-shirt, my hair slightly damp and no makeup.”

Details about the wedding itself remain private, but Cameron made it clear that she plans to take a non-traditional approach to her bridal look. She told Vogue that conventional “soft” makeup looks don’t feel authentic to her.

“Honestly, for my wedding day, I don’t want to do anything too traditional,” she said. “Every time I put on makeup with really pretty eyeshadow, like a gold wash, really light and just a little bit of mascara, I don’t feel like myself.”

She added: “I would rather be literally without makeup, or with a kind of blurry eye, like I put on eyeliner and ruin it myself, something like that.”

Cameron, 30, announced her engagement to the Måneskin frontman earlier this month, but told the outlet that the proposal was made privately in October.

The couple kept their engagement a secret for months, with speculation first arising in late October when Cameron was spotted in Sydney wearing a ring. They later shared the news publicly in January.
