The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, went to Beijing in an official three -day visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said Monday.
The visit comes at a time of greater diplomatic commitment between Pakistan and China following the ongoing tensions with India after the recent confrontation about the Pahalgam incident.
Discussions are expected to cover a variety of bilateral and regional issues.
In Beijing, the DPM will hold comprehensive conversations with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as well as with other senior Chinese officials, including key members of the Chinese Communist Party. The meetings will focus on recent regional developments and the multifaceted Pakistan-China relationship.
The Ministry pointed out that the visit is part of the high -level exchanges in progress and reflects the continuous force of the strategic cooperative association for all climate between the two fraternal countries.
In an earlier statement about the visit, the MOFA said that DPM Dar had been invited by his Chinese counterpart Wang.
Afghanistan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will also arrive in China on May 20 to join a trilateral meeting among the leaders of the three countries.
During the recent climbing with India, China expressed its support for Pakistan with the Chinese ambassador reaffirming the “lasting and proven friendship between China and Pakistan”, describing the relationship as one of the “Irreclad brothers” who have always supported themselves in challenging times.
The armed forces of Pakistan launched a large-scale military action, called “Operation Bunyan-Mou-Marsos”, and pointed to several Indian military objectives in multiple regions.
The attacks, described by the officials as “precise and proportional”, were carried out in response to the continuous aggression of India in the control line (LOC) and within the territory of Pakistan, which New Delhi said they were aimed at “terrorist objectives.”
Pakistan knocked down six Indian combat planes, including three rafale, and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the war, caused by India, ended on May 10 with a high -fire agreement negotiated by the United States.
According to ISPR, a total of 53 people, including 13 personnel from the Armed Forces and 40 civilians, were martyred in Indian strikes during the recent military confrontation.
The military confrontation between the two countries was caused by last month’s attack in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) of illegal occupation last month who left 26 dead tourists, with India blaming Pakistan for the attack without offering any evidence.
