DPM Dar, Rubio discusses global developments, reaffirms the resolution to boost Pak-US ties

Islamabad: the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, and the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, have reaffirmed their resolution to reinforce the ties of Pakistan-United States and strengthen bilateral relations in multifaceted cooperation areas.

The Rubio Secretary of State, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made a call with DPM to give in which the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of the ties of Pakistan-United States and discussed the recent regional and international developments.

Development is in the context of improving diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Washington, especially after the armed conflict between Pakistan and India in May, which ended after President Donald Trump negotiated a high fire between the two neighbors with nuclear weapons.

DPM Dar, in July, had met Rubio, where the last praised Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terror.

The meeting was held at the level of delegation, with senior officials from both sides attended. The two parties discussed a wide range of issues, including bilateral ties, improved cooperation prospects in commerce, economy, investment, anti -terrorism and regional peace.

Shortly after the meeting, the two countries announced to reach a commercial agreement, which aimed to boost bilateral trade, improve access to the market, attract investments and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

According to the agreement, there will be a reduction in tariffs, particularly in Pakistani exports to the US, and a new beginning in economic cooperation between the two countries, which also includes the development of oil reserves.

Earlier this month, Pakistan obtained an investment of around $ 500 million from the USA. In its critical mineral sector under an agreement recently signed with the strategic metals of the United States (USSM).

The agreements cover cooperation in the development and processing of critical minerals, including rare earth elements (REE), as well as logistics services.

The Frontier Works organization (FWO), the mineral minerals of Pakistan, signed a memorandum of historical understanding with USSM, an American leader, recycling and mining processor.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in a variety of essential strategic minerals for defense, aerospace and technology industries.

Cooperation aims to unlock new opportunities in sustainable growth, technology transfer and employment creation, while prioritizing environmental responsibility.

Separately, the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) signed a MOU with the Mota-Engil Group to explore long-term associations in engineering and construction.

The economic, commercial and diplomatic ties that improve between Islamabad and Washington will also be taken in the context of the Chief of the Staff of the Army (COA), also Munir, the multiple high -level visits to the United States, including a rare individual meeting with President Trump in June.

The COA recently visited the United States in August for the retirement ceremony of the outgoing commander of the United States Central Command (Centcom), General Michael E Kurilla and the change of command ceremony that marks the assumption of command of Admiral Brad Cooper.

During the visit, the head of the Army was with the president of the Chiefs of General Staff Dan Caine.
