The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, went to an official two -day visit to Bangladesh by invitation of the Bangladesh government.
The trip, described for a long time, had previously postponed twice, once in May after higher Pakistan-India tensions after Pahalgam’s attack.
“By invitation of the Government of the Popular Republic of Bangladesh, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, will visit an official visit to Bangladesh from August 23 to 24, 2025,” said the foreign office in a statement.
During his stay in Dhaka, Dar is scheduled to meet with the main advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus and the Foreign Affairs Advisor, Touhid Hossain. “The entire range of bilateral relations and various regional and international issues will be discussed during these meetings,” added the statement.

The visit comes at a time when a senior military delegation of Bangladesh is in Pakistan, indicating a growing commitment between the two countries.
According to an ISPR statement, Lieutenant MD Faizur Rahman, general mayor of the Bangladesh Army, called General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, president of the Joint Committee of Personnel Chiefs, at the headquarters of the Joint Personnel in Rawalpindi.
The two parties discussed the regional security environment and emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in defense and security. General Mirza highlighted the ascending trajectory of bilateral ties and pointed out new ways for collaboration.
The visiting general praised the professionalism of the Armed Forces of Pakistan and recognized his sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Relationships between Pakistan and Bangladesh have improved markedly since the expulsion of the Sheikh Hasina Wajid government last year.
Since then, the interim government in Dhaka has recalibrated its foreign policy, raiding the way for a reboot in ties with Islamabad.
