Islamabad:
The prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, reiterated on Tuesday the strong commitment of the Government with the empowerment of young people, emphasizing that prioritizing the education and development of young people would pave the way for a young community of Resilient Asia and a prosperous future.
When heading to the inaugural session of the Summit of the Commonwealth Asia (Caya), Shehbaz said that the youth bulk of Pakistan, with around 70% of the population under 30, completely understood its potential and that the Challenge could easily become great opportunities.
“By ensuring that young people remain central to governance and decision -making processes, we can lead the way to promote associations, support entrepreneurship and prioritize education and skill development,” said Prime Minister.
“This will ensure that our future is in the hands of an empowered young generation,” he added. He stressed that Pakistan, as a founding member of the Commonwealth, gave great importance to his institutions.
The delegates from 12 countries, federal ministers, diplomats, 113 new members of the National Council of Youth, Students and Academics from all over the country attended the opening session of the summit.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister administered the oath to the third lot of New York, which includes 113 members of 41 cities throughout Pakistan. They included 49 boys, 49 girls, 2 transgender and 13 of the diaspora abroad.
Emphasizing the undeniable role of young people in development, the prime minister told the summit that he always prioritized the productive employment of young people as a key focus area and dedicated significant efforts to this goal. (With application entry)
