Dreame makes some of the best robot vacuums on the market, and I took a look at its newest flagship at CES 2026. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is now available for pre-order in the US and features a number of major improvements over its predecessor. Given that the model earned a near-perfect 4.5 stars in our Dreame X50 review, I have high hopes for this updated version.
The X50 is one of the few Dreame robot vacuums that will be on display at CES; Other models include the Cyber10 Ultra, with an arm that can pick up different tools, and the Cyber X, which comes with a capsule that will allow you to go up and down stairs. (In fact, these flashy robots weren’t even the most prominent part of Dreame’s showcase — the brand used CES to announce its expansion into a slew of new tech categories, but that’s a different story.)
1. It is much thinner
The main feature Dreame focuses on is how thin the new robot is. Like its predecessor, the Dreame X60 Max has a top-mounted LiDAR disk that can retract until it is flush with the top of the robot. This happens when the robot detects that it is entering a low-height space.
However, the X60 is significantly thinner than the X50 in the first place. With the disc retracted, it measures 3.13 inches / 7.95 cm high (in contrast, the previous version measured 3.5 inches / 8.9 cm). That’s right up there with the shallowest robot vacuums on the market, in line with the Roborock Saros 10R, or possibly even a little slimmer.
Why is height important? It affects where the robot can and cannot clean. It could, for example, be the difference between whether the robot can vacuum under the couch or not. That’s a huge benefit, because these inaccessible places often collect dust and are also out of reach of handheld vacuum cleaners, unless you commit to a major furniture rearrangement.
2. It has a very hot mop wash.
Like most premium robot vacuums, the X60 has a base that can clean the robot’s mop pads. In this case, Dreame has increased the mop wash temperature to a scorching boiling point of 212°F / 100°C. The idea is that it will remove any remaining grease and ensure that the pads are squeaky clean before your next mopping session. In comparison, the X50 could clean up to 176F/80C, which is still nice and hot.
3. You can jump over even higher thresholds
The X50 introduced Dreame’s ProLeap system: small feet that raise the robot and allow it to cross steps up to 2.4 inches/6 cm high. For the X60, that system has been improved and the robovac can now clear obstacles up to 3.47 inches/8.8 cm.
Like the slimmer build, this upgrade is intended to expand the number of places this robot can reach. If you have a particularly high threshold, that could make a room, or even an entire section of your home, inaccessible to the robot vacuum. That is, unless you take the time to manually lift it above the threshold each time, which somewhat negates the hands-off benefit of opting for a robovac in the first place. With the new ProLeap system, the X60 can move freely, hitting steps and obstacles as it goes.
Great benefits
Those are the big core improvements, but there are many more tweaks and changes under the hood that could make a big difference for certain users. For example, the base of the X60 has a dual solution compartment, meaning it can dispense not only a regular floor cleaner but also a specific solution designed to eliminate pet odors. The basics have also gotten a boost: Dreame promises faster navigation and quicker responses, improved sensors that can detect things like pet hair and pale liquids, and more powerful suction.
Currently, the At list price it costs $1,699.99 (equivalent to around £1,260 / AU$2,525), but I suspect it won’t regularly sell at that price – the current “early purchase” offer is discounted to $340 and includes accessories, cleaning solution and an extended warranty.
Dreame has a strong presence in the UK and Australia, and I anticipate the X60 will arrive in both markets before long.
