DSP injured, agent agent in Waziristan


Miranshah:

An deputy superintendent of the Police (DSP) was seriously injured while a police officer was kidnapped after the unidentified assailants opened fire against a police vehicle in the Azam Warsak area in the Lower Waziristan of the South South on Wednesday.

According to police sources, the vehicle was heading from Wana to the subdivision of Toi Khulla through Samar Bagh when it was attacked. The wounded officer, DSP Rakhmeen, was immediately transferred to the hospital where he receives medical treatment.

A search operation is being carried out to locate the missing police officer, while security in the region has hardened after the incident. The authorities have increased surveillance at all entry and exit points to avoid greater violence.

Meanwhile, a curfew was imposed on several parts of the bass Waziristan del Sur today. In a notification issued by the commissioner attached on Tuesday, all the routes to and from Shakai, Tiarza, Shom, Khamrang and Tanai were declared completely closed for the movement on July 3.
