With the adoption of AI growing rapidly, hyperscale data centers are becoming essential to support the workloads of advanced AI tools, including those that promote the writing platforms of the leaders.
In the recent week of Dubai AI, Microsoft and the Telecommunications Supplier of the EAU announced plans to build a hyperscala data center of $ 544.54 million in the EAU.
“This marks a significant investment in digital infrastructure, reinforcing the leadership of Dubai in the adoption of the latest technologies, innovations and digital services,” said Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum, the prince of the Dubai Crown, the Deputy Minister and Minister of Defense, in a publication publication in the announcement.
Strengthening Eau AI infrastructure
The new data center will be a central component of Microsoft’s continuous effort to expand its cloud infrastructure and AI in the Middle East. It follows previous collaborations, including an association with the Government of Abu Dhabi and Core42 to offer AI services and sovereign cloud capabilities within the EAU.
The CEO of Du, Fahad al Hassawi, said that the investment is: “A fundamental leap in our strategic objective of revolutionizing the EUE digital ecosystem.”
The center’s capacity will be delivered to Microsoft in phases, although specific terms and technical details have not yet been revealed.
Currently, Du operates five data centers in the EAU, already early 2025 signed an agreement to extend the underwater peace cable to the country.
Microsoft has constantly expanded its presence in the cloud in the Middle East since it launched its Eau cloud region in 2019. Since then, the company has announced similar regions in Qatar, Israel and Saudi Arabia, with additional plans for a new region of the cloud in Kuwait.
The new hyperscala data center based on EAU will help meet the growing demand for low latency access to cloud platforms that feed everything, from the main web accommodation services to next -generation business applications.
