Dubai: Dubai airport has begun to install the latest generation 3D scanners to make security controls faster and easier for passengers.
Driven by artificial intelligence, the new scanners will project the luggage in seconds, allowing travelers to erase security verifications in a minimum time.
According to officials, passengers will no longer need to eliminate laptops, perfumes, water bottles or other liquids during detection.
The airport administration said the project will be completed at the end of 2026, expressing its confidence that the initiative will make trips smarter and more fluid for all passengers.
The Emirati city, located between Asia, Europe and Africa, has been classified in the world’s busiest air center for international passengers for a decade.
The installation marked its first busy half recorded with an year-on-year growth of 2.3%, welcoming 46 million passengers in the first half of this year despite the interruptions due to the Iran-Israel war.
