
Dubai International Airport welcomed a record of 46 million passengers in the first half of this year, authorities said Tuesday, despite the interruptions due to the Iran-Israel War.

“According to our performance to date and a positive perspective, we hope that annual traffic reaches 96 million this year, which brings us closer to the symbolic milestone of 100 million,” said Dubai Executive President Airports, Paul Griffiths.
In 2024, Dubai’s International Airport registered its largest annual passenger traffic in history, for a total of 92.3 million.
“January was the busiest month of the period and also established a new monthly record, with 8.5 million guests,” said the statement.
“When entering the second half of the year, the travel activity is expected to accelerate,” he added.
The main countries of passenger traffic to and from Dubai were India, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
The Emirati city, located between Asia, Europe and Africa, has been classified in the world’s busiest air center for international passengers for a decade.
Dubai is planning an expansion and relocation of the airport from $ 35 billion to the airport to Al Maktoum International, on the outskirts of the city, in 2032.
The new airport will be expanded in phases, with an eventual capacity of approximately 240 million, which is expected to be the largest in the world by a wide margin.
