Dwayne Johnson just loves moana!
The 52-year-old wrestler-turned-actor expressed that he enjoys sharing Polynesian culture through the Disney animated film, whose titular star is of Polynesian descent.
Admitting that he is a fan of films that represent culture, Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” said MY! News“The thing about ‘Moana,’ and I think the success of ‘Moana,’ and I want to thank everyone, has been this global acceptance of our Polynesian culture, and it’s really cool.”
“Of everything I love about Moana, what I love most is that my daughters, my three daughters, see themselves in Moana,” she further detailed how she also admires films that preach empowerment. And I think this idea of uplifting and empowering our young women and how important that is.”
The Fast and the Furious star continued, “And I can run around, with my hair long like Maui, and say ‘Cheehoo’ and cheer on our young girls; it’s amazing.”
