- The Dyson V8 cyclone is an improved version of the best selling V8 stick vac
- It offers 30% more suction and execution time 50% longer than the original V8
- In the United Kingdom, the price is more or less the same as the original, also: £ 349.99 (US prices TB)
Dyson has just launched a new flagship. It looks great and has tons of great and useful characteristics. But realistically, I don’t think it’s the emptiness that most of us have been waiting, because it comes with an absurd price.
In a state of shock ‘Read the room’, this round of launches sees Dyson innovate not only at the upper end of its range, but at the lower end, where normal people buy. Here is: Cyclone V8: an improved V8 stick vacuum cleaner With 30% more suction and 50% longer execution time, but (crucial) practically the same price.
Despite having launched Waaaay in 2016, the V8 remains the best -selling emptiness of Dyson. But because it has almost a decade, its specifications are quite a poor quality compared to what you would get with the best wireless market vacuum cleaners, which makes it difficult to recommend to anyone who is not a Dyson fan in a budget. (The V8 has really had an update before, in the form of V8 Advanced, which offered a little more suction than the original, but never completely replaced the least powerful model in the Dyson line).
Cyclone V8 addresses many of the V8 deficiencies, which makes it a really strong and affordable option, something that the brand’s vacuum range has been much lost. It lacks the elegant characteristics of Dyson’s best vacuum cleaners, but prioritizes important bits and, according to my practical time, is still an extremely capable cleaner.
The Dyson V8 cyclone is capable of a maximum of 150 aerial suction watts, compared to 115AW in the original V8. The head of the main floor has been updated to one who actively dislikes the hair, so it does not end up having to undo it manually after each use.
The battery has had an impulse and can now last up to a full hour with a single load, which is in line with what you get with many modern wireless cows. I am also pleased to see that the battery is now removable, which means that it can replace it if it starts to wear out, or even buy a backup for Hot Unwap if you want longer cleaning sessions.
I am even more happy to see what eliminates cyclone V8 with one of my greatest bugs with Dyson Vacs: the activation operation. Because the activation operation is predominantly to extend the execution times, and that is not a big problem with the new updated battery, cyclone V8 turns on and off with a button of a presentation.
In this way, it is actually superior to people at most more expensive, otherwise, detect much more advanced V15. It is also much lighter than the newest Dyson vacuum cleaners, and more comfortable to use for long periods and in portable mode. I am less beaten with the new color scheme ‘Scoummy Pond’ (not with the official name), but you cannot have everything.
What are you missing?
In addition to the color scheme, there are some more commitments that will do for the lowest price. There is no automatic mode in which the suction increases intelligently up and down, depending on things like the type of floor or dirt detected.
The V8 cyclone is not as powerful as the newest models: it has 150W of suction, compared to 200AW in the V11 (the UP model) and 315AW in the new V16 piston animal of rank and new. However, it seemed a lot of dirty during my practical time (I will inform more definitively once I have had the opportunity to do some adequate tests of the real world).
Part of that has to do with the fact that the configuration. Here, the cup of dust, the engine and the cyclones are at right angle with the wand, while with all the new Dyson Stick’s vacuum cleaners they are in a line. I asked Dyson’s engineer, Steph Parker, why they decided not to present the design in line with this update, and she explained that it was a change too big.
“If the format changes, change a lot of product,” he explained. “If you think where the filter is put on the product and how its air flow goes through the product …”. He also told me that Cyclone V8 is designed to be an off -road vacuum, but more small houses with less pedestrian traffic.
Price and availability
In the United Kingdom, the Dyson V8 cyclone will be available from September 17, 2025, at a list price of £ 349.99, only a little more than the advanced V8, at £ 329.99. I have requested price and launch information for the United States and Australia, and I will update this article when I receive an answer.
