Philadelphia Eagles Offensive tackle Jordan Mailata interrupted a locker room interview Thursday to remind a reporter of his “ladies first” policy.
The veteran Super Bowl champion was answering questions from reporters before Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions when he stopped NBC Sports’ John Clark mid-question to give the floor to the reporter in the locker room.

“Did you just walk in? Sorry, we’ll ladies go first,” Mailata said politely in a video shared on X by WIP-FM Radio reporter Devan Kaney. “Sorry, John. We’re going to talk about ladies first, but then we’ll get back to you, John. Sorry, I was just staying on that. I was just staying on topic, I’m sorry.”

The genuine interruption caused laughter throughout the room. Mailata joked that the reporter looked at him when Clark started speaking.
“The girls looked at me as soon as you spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, s—. They’re all watching.’ I’m going to hold my ground.”
Kaney was able to ask the next question, which focused on AJ Brown’s latest comments on his production in the Eagles offense.

“I’m just going to stay in my lane. [The offensive line] We’ll stay in our lane and just block and pick up protection,” Mailata said when asked if he had spoken to Brown about his recent comments.
“I don’t think AJ is wrong. I don’t think he’s wrong, and if that’s how he feels, that’s how he feels,” he added, noting that the team “has moved past that.”
Brown has made it clear through cryptic social media posts and public comments that he is unhappy with his role. But the Eagles are 7-2 and in position to become the first NFC East team to win consecutive division titles in two decades.

“It’s not that I don’t care about winning, all I care about is the statistics, no,” Brown told reporters Wednesday. “It’s been week in and week out, sometimes we’re not contributing, we’re not doing our job on offense. You can’t just keep putting a Band-Aid on it if you’re hoping to win later in the year. You think you’re going to do it at the end of the year? It’s not… going to happen. It’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen.”
