The 2025 NFL season begins on Thursday night with the current Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles, and that means that fans will almost surely see the play on the team’s signature, the controversial impulse of Tush, which survived an attempt to prohibit this low season.
The work of short yards, also nicknamed the “fraternal show”, has been a basic element of the Philadelphia offensive. It is based on the powerful offensive line of the Eagles and teammates who push the Marshal Jalen hurt forward on sneaks, which often results in a touchdown or first.
A proposal of the Green Bay Packers to prohibit the play failed to obtain enough support from the NFL owners in May. According to the reports, the owner of the Eagles, Jeffrey Lurie, pronounced a “passionate speech” and brought to the legend of retired team Jason Kelce, the center of a lifetime in the lower part of those batteries, to help argue in favor of maintaining it.

The Eagles have used the play with an unmatched success, more recently in their 40-22 victory in the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs in February, when Hurts was pushed to the final area to get a score.
The opponents argue that the tactic is unfair and poses security problems, but the NFL has not found evidence of injuries linked to the work. The president of the NFL Competition Committee, Rich McKay, said in April that the lack of security risks hindered the prohibition to justify.
Eagles’ Dallas Goedert in ‘Tush Push’ remains in the NFL: ‘They are simply not so successful’
Not all players agree. The Washington commanders, Frankie Luvu, called the work “Cheap” after repeatedly jumping outside the NFC championship game last season, which forced the officials to warn him that he would be penalized by an unsportsmanlike behavior if he continued.
However, Eagles argue that any team can run the play. They are simply not so effective. The closed wing Dallas Goedert defended it during the University of Ala closed in June.

“It’s a great football play,” Goedert told Pak Gazette Digital. “In my opinion, third and 1 is the most difficult play. If someone runs through a gap and makes a play in the field, then his trip ends. We like to say that everything is first and 9 for us. If we can get nine yards, we believe we are going to get the first Down.
“We work very hard on that. Our offensive line, there are exercises for it. It is not as if we were the only team that can do it. They can do it. They simply are not so successful.”
The Cowboys, the NFC East rival of Philadelphia, will be the first to try to stop the wounds and offensive of the Eagles, when the regular NFL season begins Thursday in Lincoln Financial Field.
