Early school vacations probably

LAHORE:

The extreme warm climate has disturbed academic activities, especially for children in small private schools due to bad facilities in the classrooms.

The situation is alarming in schools that operate in small buildings in cities, including Lahore, which even lack adequate facilities of fans and water. Students in remote districts also suffer during closure and midfield of schools when the temperature increases.

The Punjab government is likely to consider closing educational institutions in the province due to the hard climate and a meeting is expected for that purpose at the end of this week.

The growing temperature during the past week made it difficult for young children to study in congested classrooms.

The worst situation faces small schools built in violation of the rules that lack the necessary facilities to continue academic activities.

Most of these schools are configured in approximately five Marla buildings that lack adequate lighting, fans, water and ventilation. The parents were forced to admit such schools to their children because the affordability.

At a time when the summer season is at its peak and a heat wave alert has been issued, students are suffering due to the lack of adequate arrangements by school administrations to deal with problems.

The relevant authorities had issued the Weatwave alert, warning that the temperature would increase throughout the province in the next few days and advise the district administrations to remain alert and make arrangements to deal with the situation.

The Department of Education of Punjab schools had been informed that there was a risk of a heat wave from May 15 to 19 and advised him to make caution arrangements, warning that the temperature could increase from four to seven degrees Celsius.

Advice had also been issued to establish heat waves in hospitals, while the cases of stroke of the heart are already reported.

However, the School Education Department seems to have not been able to persuade the institutions to make the arrangements and remain alone with the option of closing schools.

When a similar situation arose last year, the Ministry of Education closed the schools in the last week of May and began the online classes.

According to the academic calendar, summer holidays in schools are scheduled from June 1 to August 9.
