Ed Sheeran and Chris Hemsworth have given fans something a little different to talk about ahead of the singer’s Australian tour, an arm-wrestling and surprisingly competitive one at that.
Hemsworth, 42, posted a video to Instagram on Thursday, February 26, showing the two together and facing off in a battle of strength that was as entertaining as it was unexpected.
In the first round, it was Sheeran, 35, who came out on top, laughing throughout the match as a visibly tense Hemsworth struggled to hold his ground.
“Do it right. Go on, go on. He can’t,” Sheeran joked as he held the thor The actor’s arm down.
Hemsworth got his revenge in the second round, knocking Sheeran down so convincingly that the singer began to slide out of his seat trying to resist.
It was all born from a piece of fan art.
Comic book artist Wayne Nichols created an illustration of Sheeran going toe-to-toe with Hemsworth’s Marvel character Thor, Sheeran grabbing his guitar and Thor grabbing his hammer, which will be displayed at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium during Sheeran’s next series of shows.
The two celebrities then brought the artwork to life for fans, and the fun clip was released just as Sheeran kicked off his Loop Tour at Marvel Stadium on February 26.
It’s clearly a tour I’ve been looking forward to.
