Ed Westwick, who starred Gossip Girl as playboy Chuck Bass, has weighed in on a possible return to the best-known role of his career after it emerged that a standalone sequel novel is in the works for Blair Waldorf.
The author whose work inspired the popular drama series is planning the new text based on Chuck’s girlfriend, played by Leighton Meester in the television adaptation of the original novel.
Elsewhere, Westwick was asked about a possible spin-off based on her character, as the report about the Blair sequel circulated.
“It would be very interesting to see where Chuck Bass is. I just think it would be very difficult to get everyone together,” he said in UK Radio Hits. “You know what? I think anything is possible in this world, so yeah, it would be cool to know what Chuck is up to these days, for sure!”
He also detailed one of his favorite scenes from filming the show, which turned out to be the end of its third season: “My favorite scene was when I was on top of the Empire State Building, but not so much because I was filming it.”
“They let me go up on the spire of the Empire State Building, where no one can go in except maintenance people or something. And it was really cool to be able to go up there. I was wearing a full tuxedo and I went up on this spire.”
Meanwhile, Gossip Girl It was recently confirmed that author Cecily Von Ziegesar had reached an agreement to write a new novel, currently titled Blair.
Deadline reported that the book has set a tentative release goal of summer 2027.
