Eidul Adha is expected to be observed in Pakistan on June 7, since astronomical calculations indicate any possibility of observing the Zilhajj moon on May 27. The renowned astronomer Dr. Faheem Hashmi declared that the Moon will have only 11 hours old at sunset on May 27, so he is too young to be visible from anywhere in Pakistan.
However, he predicted that the Crescent is likely to be seen on May 28, which would mark the first day of Zilhajj and established on June 7 as the probable date for Eidul Adha. “The Moon will have more than 35 hours on May 28, significantly increasing the possibilities of sighting,” added Dr. Hashmi.
Meanwhile, in the United Arab Emirates (EAU), Eidul Adha is expected to be June 6, according to the Emirates Astronomy Society.
Its president, Ibrahim to Jarwan, said that the crescent will appear at 7:02 am, Eau time, on May 27 and will remain visible for approximately 38 minutes after sunset, supporting a probable sighting the same night.
According to Gulf’s news, if the moon is sighted on May 27 in the EAU, on May 28 it will mark the beginning of Zilhajj, the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
