Eight Disitches appointed in Senior Shamsul Islam Murder Case lawyer

Police presented on Friday the initial report on the murder of the main lawyer Khawaja Shamsul Islam before an anti -terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi, identifying eight suspects.

The report, presented to the ATC in the anti -terrorist complex of the central prison of Karachi, declared that the case was registered in the complaint of the victim’s brother, Khawaja Faisal, under positions of murder, attempted murder and provisions of the Anti -Terrorism Law.

The main lawyer of the Supreme Court attended the last rites of an acquisition after Friday’s prayers at the Khayaban-E-Rahat Academy, when the suspect Imran Aphridi shot him near the mosque stairs before fleeing to the crowd, according to the police.

The court ordered his arrest. The escalation suspects were identified as Imran Afridi, Zarar Afridi, Inam Khan, Usman Afridi, Taqdeer, Bahar Gul, Khasta Gul and Shehryar.

Islam was accompanied by their children, Khawaja Daniyal-Ul-Islam and Khawaja Hamza-Ul-Islam, as well as a private security guard and a police escort when he was attacked.

The main suspect, Imran Afridi, son of Nabi Gul Afridi, supposedly took advantage of the crowd and opened fire, while Islam was descending the mosque staircase. A shot was shot at Islam and another to his son Daniyal.

Hamza took his father and brother injured to the South City hospital, where Islam succumbed to the wound. Daniyal was transferred to the Aga Khan University Hospital.

The FIR also refers to a previous attack on November 14, 2024, during which Imran Aphridi and 15 to 20 armed accomplices assaulted Islam. That incident involved shots and physical violence, and was reported at the Clifton Police Station.

The Sindh Bar Association Council condemned the murder of the lawyer of the high -level Supreme Court and announced a boycott throughout the province of judicial procedures on August 4.

The vice president of the Law Council of Sindh, Shafqat Rahim, and the president of the Executive Committee Muhammad Saeed expressed their outrage due to the failure of the law enforcement agencies. They said it was deeply unfortunate that the nominated suspect would not have been arrested despite confessing the murder.
