Security forces have killed eight terrorists in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement on Tuesday.
The military’s media wing reported that the operations took place between January 12 and 13. The first operation was an intelligence-based raid in Tank district, where security forces successfully attacked a location of the outlawed group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). commonly known as the khwarij.
During the operation, six terrorists were killed, ISPR claimed.
In a second encounter in the Tirah valley of Khyber district, security forces neutralized two more terrorists associated with the TTP.
The ISPR added that disinfection operations are being carried out in the region to eliminate the remaining militants. Security forces have vowed to continue their efforts to eradicate terrorism and restore peace in the country.
Earlier, security forces killed 27 terrorists during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Kacchi district of Balochistan and destroyed huge caches of arms, ammunition and explosives, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday. .
The ISPR, the army’s media wing, said the IBO was carried out on Sunday over the reported presence of terrorists in the area. “The troops themselves stealthily surrounded and effectively attacked the terrorists’ location, and after an intense exchange of fire, twenty-seven terrorists were sent to hell.”
According to the ISPR, multiple hideouts, including caches of weapons, ammunition and explosives, were destroyed. “The slain terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians and were highly wanted by law enforcement agencies,” he added.
“Pakistan’s security forces, like the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage the peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.”
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked security forces for eliminating terrorists during Operation Kacchi. They praised the bravery of the troops for defeating the nefarious designs of terrorists in Balochistan.
Zardari said in a statement that Pakistan’s gallant armed forces were carrying out operations for complete eradication of terrorism. “The elimination of terrorists during operations is a great success of the security forces,” he said.
In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the officers and personnel of security forces for the successful operation against terrorists. He praised the professional ability of the security forces officers and personnel for killing 27 terrorists during the operations.
