Elton John is opening on how life is adapting after blindness.
“I can see you but”, the veteran musician, 78, began in an interview with The times on Friday.
He continued: “I can’t watch television, I can’t read. I can’t see my boys playing rugby and football, and it has been a very stressful moment because I am used to absorbing everything.”
“It’s distressing. You get excited, but you have to get used to it because I am lucky to have the life I have.”
John, who lives with her husband David Furnish, 62, and her children, Zachary, 14, and Elijah, 12, continued with gratitude: “I still have my wonderful family, and I can still see something out here. [left eye] Then you tell yourself, just keep going. “
Elton John contracted a severe eye infection in July that left him blind in his right eye, with ‘limited vision’ to his left
In a previous interview in February, John shared that he now has a new respect for people with vision problems and understands the fate that he is.
“There have been days when I have been miserable, but then I think about how lucky I am, I have a new respect for people with vision problems, but I have a great life and I hope my sight will improve.”
“I have overcome addiction, health problems and I can pick up, dust off.”
