Emma Willis has just opened about the criticism she received after moving her husband, Bruce Willis, to a separate house.
The 47 -year -old woman has been taking care of the 70 -year -old since she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, and recently revealed that she had made the difficult decision to transfer him to a single -floor house with a full -time care team to protect the well -being of her daughters, Mabel, 13 and Evelyn, 11.
Taking his Instagram, in a video, Emma mentioned: “I think they did a beautiful job with the amplification of FTD’s awareness, as well as with the care center care center. What I knew is that by sharing part of our intimate information that we would see these two fields. They would be people with an opinion versus people with a real experience.”
“[I anticipated that] People with an opinion [are quick to judge] The caregiver That is what caregivers face. Judgment of others and criticism of others, ”he added.
Emma continued: “Nothing changes an opinion with as much force as when he has an experience. Even if someone is very familiar with the dementia or the condition he is taking care of, they are not at home, so they do not know how his person or his family dynamic is behaving.”
“The truth is that the opinions are so strong and so loud. But if they do not have the experience of this, they have no voice and definitely do not get a vote,” he concluded in the video.
Emma Willis subtitled her publication: “Too often, caregivers are quickly and unfairly judged by those who have not lived this trip or stopped in the first line.”
“Sharing openly can invite opinions, but most importantly, it creates connection and validation for those who really sail for the realities of care every day,” he added, before concluding, “for that I share and, therefore, I can build a deeper connection with a community that includes this trip.”
