Erdogan offers flood help in the call with Prime Minister Shehbaz


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received on Thursday a phone call from the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed his condolences for the loss of lives and the generalized destruction caused by the recent floods in Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.

Erdogan transmitted Turkiye’s solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time and offered complete assistance in the continuous rescue and help efforts. He reaffirmed that Türkiye is firmly by Pakistan in times of crisis and is prepared to provide comprehensive support.

Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the Turkish president for his gesture, calling for conversation a reflection of the long fraternal ties between the two nations. He pointed out that Pakistan and Turkiye have constantly supported each other in moments of need.

The two leaders also reviewed progress in strengthening strategic and economic cooperation among their countries. They agreed to maintain narrow consultations and planned to meet outside the next leaders of the Shanghai cooperation organization in Tianjin, China.
