The fall of Shedeur Sanders to the fifth round of the NFL Draft was subject to controversy and generalized speculations, even by President Donald Trump, in April.

Now, the member of the Hall of Fame, Eric Dickerson, states that the teams “were told not to” write Sanders to “make an example” of the field marshal.

“I tell you this, what I heard from someone who is in the NFL that the NFL said [teams] Do not write it, do not write it, “Dickerson said in an interview in the” Roggin and Rodney “program at AM 570 La Sports on Thursday.” “We are going to give him an example of him.” And this came from a very good source, a very good source.

“They were not going to be recruited to basically show you ‘This is what happens when you do this.’ I mean, look, the NFL has all kinds of power, they do all kinds of things.”

Sanders was finally taken by the Cleveland Browns on the third and last day of the draft with the 144 team. Initially, the field marshal was considered a possible contender for the first general selection at the beginning of the Draft process after finishing his last season in Colorado.

Dickerson states that the Cleveland Browns were told to write Sanders, but he didn’t say who told them to do so.

“He said that, I will not say who, someone called the Cleveland Browns and said ‘Don’t do that, writing it,” Dickerson said. “Because they were not going to recruit it either … they were forced to write it because someone called them.”

Pak Gazette Digital cannot independently verify the truth of Dickerson’s statements. Pak Gazette Digital has communicated with the NFL to obtain an answer.

Sanders’ slip outside the first round surprised many, including Trump, who sent a position about Truth Social condemning the league owners for passing to the field marshal.

“What happens to the owners of the NFL, are stupid? Deion Sanders was a great university soccer player, and was even greater in the NFL. He is also a very good coach, streetwise and intelligent! Therefore, Shedeur, his son of Marshal, has phenomenal genes and is all ready,” Trump wrote. “It should be” chosen “immediately by a team that wants to win. Good luck Shedeur, and greet your wonderful father!”

Then, once Sanders fell from the second and third round the next day, the online speech increased even more.

Draft ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr., he said in the air after the third round ended: “I think it’s disgusting. I don’t understand what devils it is happening with this.”

The ESPN presenter, Stephen A. Smith, revealed a text message from an associate who compared the situation with Colin Kaepernick that was out of the NFL since 2016, which suggests that “collusion” was happening.

“‘This is a bad aspect for the NFL. This feels like a collusion at the Kaepernick level,” said Smith, the text said, adding that the situation goes beyond the “evaluation of talent.”

“All hard work that the NFL League office performs to eradicate this type of perceptions, just to turn around and see how the owners seem to be colluding, ruining everything. What has been done to Shedeur will eclipse everything else in this draft. We will never believe that this is just a talent evaluation again.”

Once Sanders was finally taken by the Browns, the general manager of the team, Andrew Berry, even admitted that the organization did not plan to take two quarterbacks, after he selected the rookie field marshal Dillon Gabriel at the beginning of the draft.

“It was not necessarily the plan to select two quarterbacks, but you know, how we talk, we believe in the best available player. We believe in the positional value. And we do not necessarily expect it to be available in the fifth round,” Berry said.

Sanders obtained the praise of many fans and experts with his first pre -season performance on August 8, when he launched two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers.

He is ready to play in the last preseason game on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams.

Even so, Sanders is buried in the current depth list of the team, listed as the fourth quartback behind veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and the rookie companion Gabriel.
