EU to launch the Park skills development project


Islamabad:

The EU would launch a program in Pakistan to train the Pakistani labor in the skills required for European markets, said a senior official, speaking on the ‘safe migration routes for candidates for dialogue of Pakistani migrants on Wednesday.

“There is scarcity of qualified labor in European markets. To meet the needs of the European labor market, the EU is launching a skills development program for the technical skills of the pachyst labor,” said Philip Oliver Gross, an attached chief of the EU delegation in Pakistan.

He, reaffirming EU’s commitment to structured migration associations with Pakistan, said migration, when properly managed, benefits both migrants and host countries. Recognizing the challenge of the lack of coincidence of skills, he said that while Europe has a shortage of work, most Pakistani migrants do not meet the required skill levels.

In addition, he said that the EU Talent Association program aims to align the training of the Pakistani workforce with the demands of the European market. He said the EU has assigned 20 million euros (2021-2027) to support vocational training, immigration governance and reintegration programs.
