EV change to reduce fuel import invoice, says PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Friday that encouraging the use of electric vehicles (EV) will help save billions of dollars in valuable currencies spent on fuel, support the environmental protection efforts and promote local industry.

By chairing a meeting on the use of encouraging electric vehicles in the country, the prime minister ordered to prepare a comprehensive government action plan to make electric vehicles accessible to the common citizen.

He announced that the Federal Government will provide electric bicycles to high performance students from all educational boards throughout the country, including the Federal Board.

In addition, he declared that unemployed people will receive Rickshaws and electric chargers with priority, to support employment generation.

There was an informative session at the meeting on the current state of the industry in the country related to the manufacture of electric vehicles and government support measures to be accessible to common people. It was reported at the meeting that the government was taking measures to facilitate the acquisition of electric bicycles, Rickshaws and loaders through low -cost loans and easy terms.

More than 100,000 electric bicycles and more than 300,000 and loaders will be available for the public under easy loans and low costs through government support.

The meeting was reported that under this scheme, students who work well at the intermediate level in educational boards throughout the country, including the Federal Board, will receive free electric bicycles.

Civil Service

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to align the country’s civil service with modern technology and international public service standards, and their revitalization to improve effectiveness.

The Prime Minister, presiding over a meeting on civil service reforms, said that the civil service played a key role in practical performance and the effective implementation of government policies in several ministries and sectors.

The comprehensive and effective reform of the Civil Service of the Priority of the Government, directed the inclusion of the contributions of public representatives and those of government officials in the administrative and institutional reforms of the civil service.

Agri graduates

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his pleasure on Friday when the first lot of around 300 graduates of Pakistani agriculture completed his practical practical training in China.

“Very encouraging to know that the first lot of around 300 graduates of Pakistani agriculture has successfully completed its practical practical training in the province of Shaanxi, China,” the prime minister wrote in his timeline X.

Current account surplus

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday cheered the increase in current account surplus to $ 2.1 billion in fiscal year 2024-2025.

In a statement, he said that the surplus of the current account had reached the highest level in the last 22 years, which was a very positive development.

“Due to government measures, currency reserves have crossed $ 19 billion,” he added.
