Eva Longoria has opened up about her experience directing Kim Kardashian in the upcoming R-rated comedy. The fifth wheeland has nothing but praise for the reality star’s transition to the big screen.
After recently wrapping three months of filming in Las Vegas, Longoria described the project as a “dream job” and highlighted Kardashian’s natural comedic timing.
The film, written by Janine Brito and Paula Pell, follows a group of friends whose trip is unexpectedly interrupted by a captivating stranger and, according to the director, Kardashian’s performance is “very funny.”
While many know Kardashian for her television empire, Longoria insists that she is the “host of the movie” and believes her talent will surprise audiences.
The pair have been close friends for 25 years, a bond that made the collaboration even more special.
Longoria shared a joyful moment from when she first accepted the job, recalling Kim telling her, “Oh, thank God, Eva knows I’m funny.”
The director is now eager for the rest of the world to see that side of her, hoping that the performance might even spark a resurgence of modern female-led comedies.
The film features a packed cast including Will Ferrell, Jack Whitehall, Nikki Glaser, Brenda Song, Fortune Feimster, Casey Wilson and Scott MacArthur.
Longoria described the production as a “big, unapologetically R-rated female comedy” that feels completely contemporary.
