Hello everyone and welcome to the start of my coverage of the Nintendo Indie World Showcase!
I’ll be with you as the event gets closer and then share a steady stream of announcements and my thoughts on them as they arrive.

There are only 50 minutes left until the Indie World Showcase begins.
The stream is currently in a waiting room-like state on YouTube, allowing you to tune in and ensure you’ll be there the moment it starts.
How long is today’s Indie World Showcase?
Nintendo has already confirmed that today’s Indie World Showcase will last approximately 15 minutes.
That’s about the same length as the previous shows and, depending on those events, will likely mean around 16 or 17 games will be shown in total.
What kind of games should I expect?

The Indie World Showcases are, as the name suggests, dedicated to indie games: titles from smaller teams that might not appear in a normal Nintendo Direct.
This means you won’t see major Nintendo franchises like Super Mario here. These are third-party titles that generally have a fairly narrow scope.
Here are some examples of titles that have appeared at previous Indie World Showcases to give you a rough idea of the type of things you can expect:
Ball x hole
Mine the hollow
Little kitty, big city
UFO 50
Small bookstore
Qud Caves
It’s an important anniversary today.

Stepping away from Nintendo Indie World coverage for a moment, did you remember that today is an important anniversary?
It’s been nine years since the launch of the original Nintendo Switch. You read that right, it’s been nine whole years!
The console was originally released on March 3, 2017.
Just under ten minutes left for everyone!
If you can’t follow the live stream, you can keep up to date with announcements in text form here.

A really cute wooden aesthetic for this game: wood.
You build small wooden sculptures into pretty dioramas. The graphics here look great and will support mouse controls on the Switch 2. A Switch release is also coming when it launches in the summer.
