The United States Department of Education discovered that the University of Pennsylvania violated Title IX by allowing Trans Lia Lia Thomas to compete in the Women’s Swimming Team, announced Monday.
A couple of UPENN women swimmers who went through the experience of sharing a pool and a costume with Thomas opened about what the administration of the administration of President Donald Trump means for them.
The conservative influence Paula Scanlan, who was one of Thomas’s first teammates to speak against school, told Pak Gazette Digital that the news “excited her”, but that it is also skeptical of its impact.

Upenn’s former women’s swimmer, Grace Estabrook, told Pak Gazette Digital that he waits more and more severe measures are taken.
“I am grateful to this administration for their leadership in these matters, and I hope to see the responsibility soon for all those who stopped, while the male athletes deprived us of female athletes of our opportunities and violated our rights in our locker room.
“I am grateful that the Federal Government has found that Penn has violated title IX, as we told Penn in the 2021-2022 season when they demanded that we have a drink and compete against a man. The discrimination of the government of sexual discrimination by Penn is an important first step, but the protection of female athletes cannot stop.

“The future generations of girls and women must be safeguarded against the horrible emotional and sexual harassment that my teammates and I support in Penn. The current policy that Penn and the NCAA are trying to use to cover their clues and leave this problem behind, and continue vulnerable to women. Do not completely protect women.”
He Department of Education The Civil Rights Office said it will give university 10 days to comply with the title IX or the risk of facing a criminal reference to the Department of Justice. Compliance would include issuing a statement about its intention to follow Title IX along with two other key actions.
“Restore all individual athletic records, titles, honors, awards or similar recognition for swimming competitions of the division and embezzled by male athletes competing in female categories.
Pak Gazette Digital communicated with the University of Pennsylvania to comment.
Currently, the University is being sued by Estabrook and two of its other teammates, Margot Kaczorowski and Ellen Holmquist, on the situation of Thomas.
The demand also appoints the Ivy League and the NCAA, citing their experience with Thomas and the management of the situation by the institutions. The demand also seeks that all the praise of Thomas in the category of women terminated.
