Whether you like to see the Disneyland POVs or the newly released handmade disneyland documentary, or wish there were more stories about how the Disney parks were created on Disney+, there’s big news for Disney Imagineering fans.
After the release of handmade disneylandPremiering on Disney+ and YouTube on January 22, 2026, Walt Disney Imagineering is bringing one of its most popular YouTube docuseries to its streaming service, and not just as a new release.
The seven episodes of We call it imagination are now streaming on Disney+, giving viewers the inside scoop on how Disney parks are designed and built. Topics range from the series’ initial deep dive into audio-animatronics to the most recent robotics episode, which offered an early look at a walking, talking Olaf.
The series pulls back the curtain on the magic of Disney and offers a look at the real-world engineering that makes Disney parks a reality. Whether you’re a fan of theme parks in general or interested in industrial design, the series will show you how these experiences come together.
Clearly Disney has done extra work here to make sure We call it imagination it really shines on Disney+, especially if you watch it on a larger screen with a sound system or even just a solid soundbar.
Each episode has been newly mastered for Disney+, maintaining the same HD resolution but with less compression and an updated audio mix that goes from simple stereo to full 5.1 surround sound. It should make the series feel more immersive.
and how handmade disneylandThis move also aims to give more people the opportunity to discover the series. Not everyone knows to look out for Walt Disney Imagineering’s YouTube channel, even though each episode already generates hundreds of thousands of views.
bringing We call it imagination Disney+ puts you in front of a much broader audience, and the platform’s recommendation engine is especially good at showing this type of behind-the-scenes content to curious viewers.
The imagination also clearly wants more people to see the process itself. Going forward, new episodes will continue to debut first on YouTube before arriving shortly on Disney+, with a new installment scheduled for this spring (March to May) and production for 2026 already underway.
Disney Imagineering has not yet shared what future episodes will focus on. Still, if the series so far is any indication, it will continue to pull back the curtain on work at Disney parks around the world and at Disney Cruise Line.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see future episodes that address upcoming attractions, or even highlight some of the more unique features aboard Disney Adventure. One of my favorite parts of this series is that it shows real cast members working at Disney Experiences, primarily in Imagineering and Live Entertainment, unpacking specific parts of an attraction.
It gives an inside scoop and highlights the finer details. Like any good documentary, it’s well-paced, excellent audio, and a wealth of information presented in an entertaining way.

Between the improved presentation on Disney+ and a steady pipeline of new episodes still debuting first on YouTube, We call it imagination It now feels less like a niche docuseries and more like a long-term window into how Disney parks and cruises are actually built.
Landing on Disney+ gives Disney’s more process-based storytelling a much bigger stage, and that’s a win for anyone who likes to see how the magic is really made.
