Islamabad:

The National Health Services Committee of the Assembly Assembly took a great notice of exorbitant rates charged by private medical institutions in the country.

He directed the Ministry of Health and the Medical Council and Dental of Pakistan (PMDC) to share his comments on the subject at the next meeting of the Committee.

The committee also urged the Ministry to review this policy to guarantee a fair and transparent process for all students. He pointed out that he would soon make a decision on the matter.

The Committee also discussed the Thalasemia detection bill 2025, whose objective is to prevent talasmia by making premature evidence mandatory for both partners in Islamabad.

The committee recognized the serious implications of health for children born with the specialty of talasia and agreed that the problem should be approached.

To advance the legislation, the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Health will seek written responses on the legal implications of this proposal.

The Permanent Committee meeting was chaired by MNA Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani. One of the key issues discussed were the continuous problems within the Nursing and Parisian Council of Pakistan (PNMC).

The president of the Committee expressed concern that despite more than 16 meetings held to address the problems related to the PNMC, significant progress has not been achieved.

The minister promised that the Ministry would take measures quickly to resolve the matter and clear any misunderstanding that surrounds it. Concerns were also raised regarding the accreditation of nursing universities, particularly some institutions that were falsely certified.
