At least nine workers were killed and another seven wounded in an explosion in the Shahrag of Harnai Baluchistan area on Friday, according to the police.

The explosion, caused by a pump planted on the road, occurred near a vehicle that transported coal miners. It is reported that the condition of injured workers is critical, said Express News.

The attached commissioner Harai confirmed that nine workers were killed and another seven were injured in the explosion. Most of the victims were from the districts of Swat and Shangla.

The law enforcement agencies quickly cordoned off the site and began to collect evidence.

The Baluchistan government condemned the attack, with the provincial spokesman Shahid Rand stating that an investigation had been launched.

He confirmed that evidence was gathering, and the initial findings suggested that the explosive material had been placed next to the road.

The Federal Minister of Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, also condemned the bombing, expressing a deep pain for the death of the workers.

Last week, another fatal accident in a coal mine in Darra Adam Khel claimed the lives of two Shangla workers. Both victims, Rehman Ali and Sarbali Khan, came from the areas of Dherai and Puran from the Shangla district.
