Fake notification claims Indian actor Salman Khan included in Pakistan’s fourth schedule

A viral claim on social media alleges that Pakistani authorities have issued a notification placing Bollywood actor Salman Khan under the fourth slab of the Anti-Terrorism Act, after Khan allegedly spoke about Balochistan at a recent event in Saudi Arabia.

The fourth annex is a list of people suspected of being terrorists or having links to terrorist groups.

The statement is false. The notification is invented.

Say

On October 25, a social media user posted an alleged notification on X (formerly Twitter) showing that the Balochistan Government had placed Indian actor Salman Khan in the fourth list.

The publication claimed that Khan referred to Balochistan as an “independent nation” at a recent event.

Identical claims were also shared elsewhere on X, Instagram and Facebook here, here and here.

Made

The notification is self-generated and has not been issued by Pakistani authorities, confirm two officials and a digital forensic platform.

Javed Ali, section officer of Home Department in Balochistan, said Geographic data verification by phone: “The document is totally false.”

Ali explained that he issued a notification on October 16, placing a person’s name on the fourth calendar. The notice was later edited, he added, to include the name of Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

A senior Balochistan official, who spoke to PakGazette Fact Check on condition of anonymity, also said that the notification was manipulated.

Furthermore, the viral notification contains multiple inconsistencies and grammatical errors. For example, “affiliate” is written as “aftilista” and the document indicates “the following names” when only one name appears.

Grammatical errors in the online notification show that it is auto-generated.
