A false officer from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and a former Islamabad police officer were arrested in relation to a kidnapping for the rescue case in Rawalpindi, authorities said Thursday.
The suspects, who were passed as officials responsible for enforcing the law, kidnapped Mohammad Nazir, a businessman involved in oil trade, from the Rawat area, said Express News.
They were falsely identified as members of the FIA and Islamabad police while using wireless communication devices.
The kidnappers then demanded a rescue of RS50 Lakh for the launch of the victim.
According to police reports, Nazir’s relatives filed a complaint with Rawat police, which led to the record of a kidnapping case.
The suspects then negotiated the rescue to RS15 Lakh and instructed the victim’s family to meet them in different places, including Chak Beli Mor.
A police team led by Sho Zahid Zahoor established a control point on the GT road, where four of the kidnappers arrested successfully.
The victim, Nazir, was rescued safely, and the police also recovered a vehicle and other articles of the suspects.
However, two of the kidnappers, including the FIA False agent and the fired police officer, managed to flee the scene. Police have launched a human hunt to capture the remaining suspects.
Sho Zahid Zahoor declared that the police are chasing the fugitives and trusts that they will be arrested soon.
