During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry, citing the absence of his main lawyer, requested a postponement of the procedures.

The court agreed the application and postponed the case, schedule the next hearing for March 19. The ATC judge, Manzoor Ali Gill, presided over the session.

Chaudhry had requested an interim bond in relation to cases of caused and vandalism, including those linked to destruction out of Rahat Bakery and other places on May 9. The police report, which labels Chaudhry guilty, is a significant development in the ongoing legal battle.

The court is expected to listen to more arguments in the case in March, and Chaudhry will remain on interim bail until then.

Previously, a heated altercation between the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Barrimer Shoaib Shaheen, and former federal minister, Fawad Chaudhry, exploded at Gate 5 of Adiala Jail, which resulted in slapped and verbal abuse on Saturday.

Both leaders first exchanged hard words, with Chaudhry accusing Shaheen of being an “agency tout”, to which Shaheen replied, “takes care of their own business,” said Express News.

The confrontation then intensified with Fawad Chaudhry hitting Shoaib Shaheen, causing PTI leader to fall to the ground.

The prison staff intervened to break the fight. Subsequently, Fawad Chaudhry entered the prison facilities, while Shoaib Shaheen suffered an injury to his arm from the fall.

PTI’s lawyer, Nadia Khattak, who witnessed the incident, condemned Chaudhry’s actions, stating that physical violence was unacceptable despite the differences. She expressed relief that Shaheen did not suffer serious injuries.
