Fazl says that the KP government has become “meaningless”

Dera Ismail Khan:

The Chief of Jui-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has affirmed that in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), there is not only a governance crisis, but the very existence of the provincial government has become “meaningless.”

Speaking to journalists at Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, Fazl accused the government of abandoning citizens at the mercy of circumstances. “The government has left people to the whim of destiny, but we cannot leave the public alone,” he said.

Remembering the struggles faced by the people of KP, the leader of Jui said that residents had taken “unbearable charges” in search of peace and cooperation with state institutions. From Bajaur to South Waziristan, millions were forced to leave their homes and businesses, while thousands of families were displaced in cities from Peshawar to Karachi.

However, despite such “timeless sacrifices”, peace remained difficult to achieve in the province. Fazl accused that the State had failed in its fundamental responsibility to protect the lives, property and honor of its citizens.

“It is tragic for the State to have the ability to provide security, but instead choose to ignore the survival of citizens, while pursuing their own objectives. This approach does not even serve the interests of the country,” he warned.

Answering a question, Fazl clarified that his party did not advocate resistance against state institutions. Rather, he said, Jui criticized his political role and certain policies that directly affect both politicians and common citizens.

“We want the public to respect defense and AME institutions. But unfortunately, the opposite is happening. Institutions are quickly losing public support, and this will be disastrous for the country and all of us,” he warned.
