According to reports, Microsoft has solved an error in Windows 11 that caused the mouse cursor to be overcome irritatingly under certain circumstances.
Windows Latter explained the nature of the error and provided a video that illustrates the strange behavior. It shows that the mouse cursor is in its default size (which is ‘1’ in the sliding control in the mouse configuration), and yet the cursor is much larger than it should be.
When Windows last manipulates the sliding control so that the mouse cursor is larger, then returns it to a size of ‘1’, the cursor ends up being corrected and back to normal. Apparently, this problem manifests after resuming sleep on a PC with Windows 11.
Windows Last says that this error has been spinning since Windows 11 24h2 for the first time (in October last year), but the problem has not been a constant spine on its side. Apparently it has only happened occasionally, but however, it has been a continuous discomfort.
However, not, because apparently with the July update for Windows 11, the problem has been solved.
ANALYSIS: The mouse matters
As strange as it seems, Microsoft never recognized this problem, although other Windows 11 users have certainly done it: Windows Last has not been alone in suffering at the hands of this error.
I have seen some reports about Reddit with respect to the problem, and some posters have experienced the large cursor after restarting their machine instead of returning from the suspension mode (and there are similar complaints in Microsoft’s own forums of help).
Whatever the case, the problem seems to be quite random in terms of when or if it occurs, but the community is some type of state change for the PC in terms of sleeping or restarting.
While the change size of the mouse cursor may not sound like a big problem, it is actually quite harmful. As Windows Last observes, having a large cursor can make it more violent and more difficult to select smaller menu elements in applications or Windows 11.
And if I did not know the aforementioned solution, to go to the configuration application, find the mouse size slider and adjust it, you can end up restarting your PC to cure the problem. And that is if a restart really fixes things, because, as others have pointed out, restarting can also cause the problem.
This was an annoying failure, so, so it is good to hear that it is now resolved with the last Windows 11 update.
