- The dough spectrum canvas is an affordable alternative to the Apple study screen
- It is the screen that each Mac user has been waiting
- The screen offers a friendly design for Mac, custom for creativity
For many MAC users, Apple’s study screen is a highly desirable product, but its high price will have put it out of reach of some potential buyers.
Tech Start Dough is developing the Spectrum canvas, an alternative to the Apple Studio screen, based on the comments of Mac users in R/Mac.
This device is a 32 -inch 6K monitor aimed at creatives, remote workers and professionals who want a quality similar to Apple without the premium price. The canvas aims to achieve a balance between visual fidelity, premium materials and community -based characteristics.
6K screen built with macOS in mind
In the heart of the spectrum canvas is the Black 6K IPS panel of LG, which was announced in CES 2025. It offers a true color of 10 bit, 98% DCI-P3 coverage, 218 ppi, a contrast ratio of 2000: 1 and an adobergb 99.5% coverage.
The monitor also includes an ATW polarizer, which helps reduce IPS brightness and improves color uniformity. With this level of performance, the canvas is positioning itself as one of the best 5K/8K monitor options available for modern Mac users.
In design terms, the device presents an anodized aluminum body, a solid roof melting and glass glass support in the front. The glass finish is bright but anti -reflective, avoiding the glow typically associated with bright panels.
At the time of writing, some aspects of the monitor, such as energy delivery specifications, webcam options, speaker integration and USB Hub design, are still under development. Instead of finishing these decisions internally, Dough is involving its user community in the process. Those interested in contributing can join the company’s Reddit community.
For users looking for the best MAC Mini monitor or the best monitor for MacBook Pro, Native 6K resolution and the large format of the Spectrum Canvas promises to offer a perfect experience in daily tasks and creative workflows.
From now on, Dough has not published official details about prices or availability.
