As Pam Bondi steps down as United States Attorney General, her impact on the national movement to “Save Women’s Sports” has been praised by figures involved in the fight.
During Bondi’s tenure, she brought Justice Department lawsuits against state education agencies in Maine, California and Minnesota over policies that allowed biological male transgender athletes to compete in women’s high school sports.
Former NCAA women’s soccer player Sophia Lorey, now a prominent activist and conservative influencer based in Southern California, told Pak Gazette Digital her reaction to the recent news of Bondi’s departure as AG.

“I am grateful for Attorney General Bondi’s leadership in defending women’s sports and championing justice for athletes. Her efforts reflect an administration that has made protecting women and girls a clear priority. From Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon, I have seen consistent and coordinated commitment to this issue at the highest levels,” Lorey said.
“Regardless of personnel changes, I remain encouraged that protecting the integrity of women’s sports remains a signature focus of President Trump’s administration, and I look forward to seeing that commitment carried forward with strength and clarity.”

Lorey was a leading figure in the effort to bring national attention to local controversies involving transgender athletes in Riverside County, California, at Martin Luther King and Jurupa Valley high schools, with each incident resulting in lawsuits. Bondi then launched a Title IX lawsuit against California last July over its refusal to change its policies.
The Independent Women’s Forum, a political group representing prominent sports activists Payton McNabb and Selina Soule, addressed Bondi’s departure in a statement to Pak Gazette Digital.
“Pam Bondi’s tenure at the Department of Justice has been extremely consequential and effective. During her tenure, the Department advanced key public safety and law enforcement priorities, and crime reduction reflects a renewed focus on the rule of law. Attorney General Bondi also played a visible role in one of the most pressing legal questions of our time: whether long-standing sex-based protections for women and girls will be maintained,” the group said in a statement.

“Her leadership in supporting efforts to preserve equity in women’s sports and recognize biological reality in the law has been applauded by Independent Women. She has been a trusted and valued partner to the administration, and her long-standing working relationship with the President is clear. Her experience and leadership will undoubtedly continue to have an impact, whether in public service or the private sector.”
