- NVIDIA RTX 5090 is very thin for stock levels now, but that could change soon
- It is rumored that boards manufacturers are obtaining a large influx of chips for their RTX 5090 graphics cards
- It may only take a month or so for this apparent increase in stock to demonstrate on shelves.
NVIDIA RTX 5090 can be extremely thin on the ground at this time: you would be lucky to find one (keep in mind that our guide on where to buy the GPU could help in that search), but maybe you should wait anyway, because If a new rumors, this will not be the case for much longer.
The supply of RTX5090 will be stupidly high soon. Coatings will cry so hard😂February 15, 2025
Megasizegpu is a regular taxpayer to the Hardware Rumor scene in X and claims to have knowledge of the NVIDIA GB202 supply.
Those are the chips used in the RTX 5090, and apparently graphics card manufacturers are receiving “tons” of GB202 supply (complemented with the necessary VRM, so there is no possibility that the video memory GDDR7 has the production , neither).
That will mean that they can make many more RTX 5090 graphics cards, of course, to sell in retail channels.
However, this apparent increase in the supply, adds its own seasoning, will not reach the shelves immediately, because, as noted, the tables must still be manufactured and distributed.
Therefore, Megasizegpu guesses that we will begin to see many more GPU RTX 5090 available to buy in “approximately one month”, and this is warned as an assumption, I must stress.
ANALYSIS: Coatings could be in serious problems
A month sounds on the optimistic side, but if this is true, there will be an increase in the supply soon, and it will not spend much before the shelves are potentially filled with RTX 5090 GPU.
I say they will be stuffed Because what we must remember about Blackwell’s flagship is that it is a very niche proposal. In fact, given the price increase with the MSRP on the RTX 4090, the RTX 5090 is even more a graphics card of enthusiasts out of reach, so the audience for this particular GPU is quite narrow, frankly. A sudden increase in the offer as predicted will probably mean that there are RTX 5090 models sitting on the shelves, finally, and hopefully, prices will be normalized more, back to the MSRP.
So, if I had the temptation to buy an RTX 5090 at the highest prices, some retailers are charging, or in fact a GPU of Reversed in a subsection site, the clear council here is: to sit well. Certainly it seems that it is worth waiting, since we should see the results of this apparent movement of Nvidia soon enough (and I bet more rumors will soon mark this as correct, if it really is true).
As Megasizegpu points out, “the coatings will cry very hard” and that could teach people a lesson that the price of new hardware, especially very expensive products, may not be a wise course of action, and does not come without risks.
In a broader note, this is the first flash of an optimistic prognosis for the Nvidia Blackwell GPUs that we have had since they launched (otherwise it has been a great nightmare).
Nothing is mentioned about the RTX 5080 by the filter, but still, we can expect that if the GB202 supply is improving, perhaps other chips (GB203 and GB205, the latter being the engine of the RTX 5070) An increase in also, and perhaps more of the NVIDIA RTX 5000 graphics cards you will see healthier stock levels.
That said, Videcardz, who noticed the previous publication in X, also points out that what some retailers seem to be doing largely the PC prior to Blackwell GPUs, instead of selling them as independent products. Anyway, if many actions of RTX 5090 occur, there should not be a problem of availability in a short time.
