Finmin praises the growing consumer confidence


Islamabad:

The Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, welcomed the findings of the Ipsos consumer confidence survey for the second quarter of 2025, qualifying it as a strong statement of the improved economic perspective and the public feeling in all Pakistan.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Finance said that Aurangzeb welcomed the survey findings, saying that these were a timely validation of the economic direction of Pakistan and a clear sign that the country was on a stable path towards recovery and resistance.

Ipsos is an international market research firm that brings together ideas about consumer behavior, public opinion and market trends. The company uses methods such as online surveys, interviews and focal groups in 89 countries.

The survey reveals a significant increase in consumer confidence, and 42 percent of Pakistani now believe that the country was directed in the right direction, the highest level recorded in six years. The perceptions of the economy that were also reached their most favorable levels since August 2019.

Aurengzeb said that these encouraging data reflected the success of the disciplined and specific macroeconomic strategy of the government implemented in the last 14 months.

“The stabilization of key economic indicators, including the containment of inflation, the strengthening of the exchange rate, the reconstruction of currency reserves and improved fiscal discipline have created a basis for renewed public confidence and economic recovery,” he added.

He stressed that consumer’s confidence in making main purchases and investments has doubled compared to the same period last year, indicating that households were beginning to feel safer in their financial perspectives.
