The journalists briefly briefly boycotted the Press Conference after the budget of Muhammad Aurengzeb on Wednesday after the Federal Income Board (FBR) was broken (FBR)
With a tradition of decades when not providing a technical informative session on the Finance Bill.
The boycott forced a delay in the press conference when the officials of the Ministry of Finance tried to convince journalists to return, without success. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar finally intervened and managed to resolve the confrontation, allowing the informative session to continue.
The journalists protested the absence of the usual technical session, saying that such informative sessions had consistently provided for more than 20 years.
This year’s omission was seen as a serious violation of transparency.
Later, the Minister of Finance sent relevant officials to persuade journalists, but it was in vain. When the matter became serious, Tarar reached block ‘P’, where the press conference was held and resolved the matter.
