KARACHI:
A fire broke out at Imtiaz Private Hypermarket located on Zamzama Street in Clifton area on Monday, causing panic in the surrounding area as fire crews rushed to the scene.
According to firefighters, six fire units are currently working to control the fire. However, heavy smoke and darkness in the basement have made rescue and firefighting operations difficult.
Rescue sources said doors are being cut with cutters to access the basement, in an attempt to reach people who may be trapped inside and bring the fire under control. Rescue officials add that rescue operations may take about two hours to complete.
