RAWALPINDI:

Rescue and firefighting teams were dispatched after a fire broke out at a garment factory in Rawat Industrial Estate of Rawalpindi on Monday.

A statement from Rescue 1122 said more than 45 personnel, along with 13 emergency vehicles, arrived at the scene and engaged in firefighting operations to bring the fire under control.

He said the fire was of a large scale and the extinguishing operation was ongoing and fire department from all districts rushed to the spot.

“More rescue fire units have been sent to the scene,” the statement said, adding that the cause of the fire is not yet known.

In addition, other fire services and the Water and Sanitation Agency were also called to the scene.
