Karachi:
The flames wrapped a five -story factory in the Landhi export processing zone of Karachi (EPZ) on Thursday morning, which caused the building to collapse and have at least three workers.
According to Rescue 1122, the workers tried to leave the building when the fire broke out and could evacuate with the assistance of fire officers.
The president of Landhi Epz told the media that the fire tender of the site came first to the site and then more fire tenders were called.
The nearby factories were also evacuated given the scale of fire.
This marks the fourth factory fire in Landhi EPZ in recent months, and the most recent was in June, when a fire broke out wrapping three factories.
At least five firefighters were injured on Sunday while fighting a fire that crossed multiple factories in the Karachi Landhi export processing zone, emergency officials said.
At least firefighters were injured during the extinction operation. The authorities have not yet determined the cause of fire, but the initial probe attributed the rapid spread of fire to chemicals and fabrics stored in factories.
