First hemophilia room for women inaugurated at the Abbasi Shaheed hospital

The mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, accompanied by Vicealcalde Salman Abdullah Murad, on Saturday, inaugurated the Haemophilia room at the Abbasi Shaheed hospital.

The six -bedroom, especially for women, has been treated by paramedics.

Speaking at the inauguration, said the mayor, the treatment of hemophilia costs thousands of rupees, but taking into account people’s financial limitations, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has offered free treatment in its hospitals under the public-private association.

He added that a male room had been established four months ago, and with the establishment of the Women’s Chamber, patients from all over Sindh would benefit.

Wahab also announced free diagnostic test plans and the establishment of a gynecology room at the Abbasi Shaheed hospital.

Wahab emphasized the need for legislation and awareness campaigns for hemophilia tests.

He warned that protests, fixing banners, transporting banners and raising slogans for any reason would not be allowed in hospitals. “Those who do not work will have to go home,” he said.

When commenting on the civic problems of the city, said Wahab, the city government, in coordination with Jamaat-E-Islami and MQM, has decided to eliminate the invasions of the entire metropolis. He specifically added that sometimes, the government’s action is delayed due to judicial orders.

He admitted that unearthering roads before the rains created difficulties for citizens, but confirmed that repair work had already begun.
