Five die in shooting Tirah protesters

Five people died and another 17 suffered wounds when the protesters were fired during a protest outside a military installation against the murder of a girl in the Tirah Vally of the Khyber district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the tribal elders declared on Sunday.

The protest ended after negotiations between tribal elders and security officials. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and KP prime minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, condemned the shooting in the Bagh Maidan area of the Tirah Valley.

The tension seized the area after the death of a 10 -year -old girl the other day. After the incident, the relatives of the victim and the local citizens arrived at the main door of the brigade headquarters this morning to protest. The protesters shouted slogans against the incident and set fire to a dispensary.

Meanwhile, the shooting broke out in which three people died on the spot. Later, two wounded more succumbed to their wounds while they were on their way to a hospital. Police sources said that 17 injured were taken to a local hospital, but that six of them were transferred to the Peshawar and seven hospitals to the Orakzai district.

Fifteen injured were identified as ajmal, Abdul Halim, Ayub Khan, Siraj, Jartej, Baitullah, Aamir Hassan, Rehmanullah, Muhammad Sadiq, Nazar Muhammad and Abu Bakar, all the residents of Zakhakhel – Khan Zeb and Muhamad de Shlobar; and Sher Zaman, Qasim and Saeed Khan of Malk Din Khel.

Later, the tribal elders met with security officials and filed their demands: case against those involved in the girl’s death; The holidays of the occupied houses of local citizens, end with unnecessary harassment in the positions of security and financial assistance to the deceased’s families.

The security forces agreed to compensate RS1.5 million to the families of each deceased assistance and RS200,000 to each injured. After a partial agreement on the demands, the protesters ended the protest and the situation began to return to normal.

Meanwhile, in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his pain for the martyrdom of innocent and peaceful citizens due to the dismissal of Fitna al-Khawarij and ordered the interested authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.

KP’s Prime Minister, Gandapur, also expressed a deep sadness and pain for the Tirah incident and announced the financial assistance of RS10 million for the heirs of each deceased and RS2.5 million for each injured, according to an express news report.

The main minister called Peshawar Jirga, composed of tribal elders and public representatives so that local feelings and concerns could be heard. He addressed the district administration and institutions that strengthen public communication and maintain order.

Gandapur said that a series of tribal elder jirgas would begin next week at divisional levels and then provincial. Member of the National Assembly of the IQbal Afridi area and the member of the KP Assembly, Abdul Ghani Afridi, condemned the incident.
