Dubai: air trips between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (EAU) have resumed, with flights that now operate from the airports of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to multiple destinations in Pakistan.

According to Aviation authorities of the EAU, the main airports in the Emirates have restarted flight operations to Pakistan. Dubai airport officials confirmed scheduled flights to Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar and Islamabad.

The first flight to Islamabad will leave on May 12, while the services to Peshawar will begin on May 13.

In Abu Dhabi, flights to Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore are also operational. However, the authorities pointed out that some flights from Abu Dhabi to Pakistan have been rescheduled, advising passengers to consult with the airline or airport customer service to obtain updated information.

All flights are expected to return to regular schedules before May 12 from Abu Dhabi.

Sharjah’s airport has similarly resumed the services to Pakistan, with Sharjah’s national airline continuing its routine operations.

Despite the full restoration of Pakistan airspace after the high in Pakistan-India struggles on Saturday, flight operations in the country remained strongly interrupted throughout the country, with more than 150 flights canceled in the midst of persistent uncertainty and logistic obstacles.

According to aviation sources, dozens of flights remained in limbo. Only on Sunday, 45 flights from Karachi (including 39 international), 38 of Lahore (including 32 international), 40 of Islamabad (including 36 international), 11 of Peshawar, 10 of fine and 6 of Sialkot were canceled, according to the official flight schedule.

In contrast, more than 25 flights operated from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, fine, Faisalabad and Quetta.

The main foreign operators have canceled around 125 incoming and outgoing flights, causing a generalized interruption for international travelers. Many flights between Karachi e lahore or Islamabad are being redirected through Quetta due to the closing of the Rahim Yar Khan flight corridor.

According to a Notam issued by the aviation authorities, the air route of Rahim Yar Khan will remain closed until 5 in the morning of May 18. Flights from Gulf countries to cities such as Lahore, Fine and Faisalabad now face longer durations due to deviations.

The airport suffered partially damaged in an Indian air attack on Friday.

Meanwhile, several airlines are making efforts to maintain the ongoing operations of the Hajj, which are working to guarantee continuity despite the operational challenges in the main airports.

A day ago, the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) announced that the country’s airspace had been completely reopened for all flight categories.

The announcement followed the statement of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, that India and Pakistan had agreed to a high fire after Pakistan’s military response to Indian aggression.
