Flood families of Zahir Pir de Zahir

The displaced families of the areas affected by the floods of Zahir Pir near Liaquatpur are being evacuated to the stain and transforders’ embankment.

Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif received the affected families that landed from the boats during his visit to the area.

The main minister praised the rescue efforts 1122 teams and the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA) for rescue and relief operations.

She ordered the relevant authorities to make mandatory the use of life vessels and rings during all rescue and help operations.

They informed him about the evacuation. The flood has affected 35 villages on the outskirts of Liaquatpur, including Noorwala, Gul Muhammad Langah, Dera Fareedi and Chohan.

The prime minister was informed that 84,721 residents and approximately 43 square kilometers of land had been seriously affected due to the flood ongoing.

The authorities said that to support the victims of the flood, six aid camps had been established, several medical camps, three boat -based clinics and 12 clinics in the wheels.

They added that 12,604 people and 488 cattle had been evacuated from the suburban areas of Zahir Pir during rescue and relief operations.

In the areas affected by the floods of Gul Muhammad Langah, a total of 52 ships with rescue and police equipment had been deployed to facilitate help efforts.

In the addresses of Punjab Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurengzeb and Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique arrived at Shujaabad bypass early in the morning to visit Gardz’s drain.

The main minister reviewed the situation of flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, in a tragic incident in Basti Adam Wahan, Minshi Wala, Abdul Rehman, 14, drowned after slipping into flood waters in the fields.

Abdul Rehman headed towards the fields with his grandfather Mukhtar, son of Ghulam Hussain, and uncle Aqeel, son of Mukhtar, when he lost his balance and fell into the water. The rescue teams arrived at the site and, after a three -hour operation, recovered the body and delivered it to the family.

The afflicted family confirmed that the child had slipped into the water, which led to his drowning. Although section 144 is imposed by the district administration due to the situation of the flood, its application is still weak and children are often bathed in flood water in several areas.

Meanwhile, several Lodhran areas have submerged after violations in protective embankments. The emergency engineer of the Shakeel Ahmad district supervised rescue operations in today’s river areas.

Rescue 1122 teams successfully evacuated more than 1,000 flood victims stranded to safer places.

The teams are also changing cattle and domestic belongings to security. Currently, 160 1122 personnel rescue, backed by 24 ships, are dedicated to flood relief operations throughout the district.
