Amid the growing regional tensions after Israeli attacks against Iranian military and nuclear facilities, Pakistan advised his citizens to avoid non -essential trips to Iran and Iraq on Friday, particularly by religious pilgrimage.
“In view of the evolutionary security situation in the region, Pakistan pilgrims are advised to reconsider their travel plans to Iran and Iraq,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

The notice occurs following the Israeli attacks against the Iranian territory on early Friday, which went to high -value military and nuclear sites. The attacks resulted in the death of several Iranian Iranian military commanders and Iranian nuclear scientists, which increases the fear of a broader regional conflict.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered all relevant government departments to extend full support for Pakistani citizens and pilgrims currently in Iran. He asked for coordinated efforts to guarantee their safety and facilitate their safe return to Pakistan.

To respond to the emerging situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a crisis management cell to provide emergency assistance to Pakistani citizens abroad.
The Pakistan embassy in Tehran has also been instructed to remain in close contact with members of the community and Zaireen (pilgrims), and to offer all the necessary facilitation. The Embassy has issued a Dedicated Emergency Line: (+98) 2166941388.
The government continues to monitor the situation closely and has ensured that more measures will be taken, if necessary, to safeguard the interests of its citizens abroad.
